Providing people of all ages resources and support to navigate and understand our rapidly changing world is what motivates our work. The institute has expertise in developing and managing science education programs in the following areas:

- Out of School Teen Science Café programs
- Citizen Science focused on the Aurora
- Data rich science, mathematics, and technology curriculum development
- Educational game development
- Professional development in science communication
- Leadership training for youth
- GIS and Big Data workforce development
